This 1967 Fairlane 500XL, was originally purchased by a woman in Illinois. I bought this rare classic in 2007 and totally restored it. We dismantled the entire car. I found the fenders, sub frame, floors and trunk to be in pretty good condition, some surface rust. The body was straight but needed a little metal work in rear driver quarter. I removed all chrome and trim, pulled the entire interior and dash, block sanded the car inside and out and sent it to paint. I had the body, front and rear hoods top and bottom, door jambs and dash all repainted in a rich black polyurethane.

We pulled the original 289 ... bored and balanced it, added a steel crank and pistons, nice cam and cobra GT heads, Eldebrock performance parts, four barrel carb. I ended up with a bulletproof 347 Stroker. Not over done, nice lobe to motor with incredible power. I had the 4 spd top loader tranny and shifter rebuilt, installed new clutch assembly.

We installed New interior... reupholstered seats, re-chromed dash trim and speedo bezel, installed new dash cover, sound deadeners, carpet, headliner, lamp lenses, heater core, new dash switches, door handles, arm rests, Pioneer AM / FM CD stereo. The door panels were nice. The wiring under dash never tampered with. The orig. floor console was nice, just needed cleaning. The only thing that doesn't work is clock... I know, why stop there, my wife said I cant spend any more. Maybe that will be a future Christmas present. Other then that the interior is original and beautiful.

Bumpers, trim, door handles etc., all re-chromed, all light lenses new. Stainless trim polished and bright. All new springs, shocks, brakes and brake lines, power steering pump, hoses, front end bushings, steering arms and ball joints and gas tank. Glass has a few scratches but good, all new door and window seals and fuzzies. New radiator, hoses, volt regulator, alternator etc. New performance headers and Flow master exhaust.

Since its completion, this 500 XL has won 4 Awards at Southern California car shows. She is a RARE Beauty and gets lots of attention where ever it is driven.
